While Microsoft has a pretty strong display during E3 2021, the absence of some games like Dark Perfect, State of Decay 3 a Fable certainly felt. There are rumors that many of those titles are way off and it may be time before proper disclosure for something similar Fable forthcoming. Speaking of the Frame Drop Podcast (transcribe through VGC), Xbox boss Phil Spencer had nothing major to disclose but praised the development team at the Playground Games.

Highlighting his recent work on Horizon Forza 5 for example, Spencer noted, “All I can really say about it Fable is, seeing the team’s pitches and the Playground, and where they set the bar for themselves when building a game – I think that has shown with the Horizon Forza 5 forecast they had – I think people should just take confidence in that [studio director] Gavin [Raeburn] and the team there has the same level of focus on doing something amazing with IP that we know is very important to many Xbox fans, so we can’t wait to show more, but the team is amazing. ”

It’s not much to go off but it is hard to deny the expertise of Playground Games especially given how the Horizon Forza series has performed so far. The development team has also been complemented by talent who previously worked at Rockstar Games, Ninja Theory and BioWare while its lead author, Anna Mergill, previously worked on Remedy’s. Management. Fable will run on the same ForzaTech engine that supports ray tracing (but whether the RPG itself operates, it remains to be seen).
