Professor Rubik’s Brain Fitness provides an Xbox, Playstation, Switch and PC test of the mind

It’s been a few years since the whole ‘brain training’ phenomenon took the gaming scene by the scruff of the neck and forced gamers to do something better with their minds than just getting involved in aimless destruction. But now it’s time to get brain fit once again, with the arrival of Professor Rubik’s Brain Fitness on Xbox One, Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. 

Brought to the gaming world by those at Microids, Professor Rubik’s Brain Fitness is possibly the first of the brain training titles to come to Xbox since we saw Brain Challenge come to Xbox 360 a decade or so ago. Honestly, if it’s been a decade since we last thought about anything, it’s probably as good a time as any to pick up the baton again. 

Priced at £33.49 Professor Rubik’s Brain Fitness on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC will see you working through a variety of fun – Microids and Magic Pockets promise they’ll be ‘fun – little mini-games and activities, stimulating each and every part of the brain in the process. Now I’m no doctor, but I’d say that’s probably a good thing. If it’s done right. 

Memory games, logic puzzles, tests centring on focus, math questions and more will ensure that this Brain Fitness is full of decent ideas, with good old Professor Rubik helping push things along, working life as a coach. As you would expect from the title of the game, this is something that has been inspired by the old Rubik’s Cube and the Professor will ensure that all elements are well thought out, described, and considered. 

You’ll be able to play Professor Rubik’s Brain Fitness either alone or with friends and family, training in your own time at your own pace should you so wish. Daily tests will keep the mind ticking over, but should you make progression will find new activities and ideas unlocking. Microids promise that 22 mini-games will be in place at launch, with an additional four ‘puzzle-games’ providing an even sterner test.
