And the release of a demo for Bandai Namco’s Story of the Rise, Fans of the series can later see how the game is viewed and executed. Best for most platforms – on the Xbox Series X and PS5, Graphics Mode runs at 4K / 60 FPS while Performance Mode runs at 1620p / 60 FPS. On the Xbox Series S, Performance Mode delivers 1080p / 60 FPS while Graphics Mode is at 1440p and offers approximately 45 FPS of performance.

According to a comparison made by ElAnalistaDeBits on YouTube, Performance Mode provides a solid 60 FPS performance on Xbox Series X / S and PS5 (with a few drops here and there). However, in Graphics Mode, the Xbox Series X is ahead of the PS5 and sets average rates at 50 FPS and sometimes falls to the high 40 FPS level. The PS5 version averages about 45 to 50 FPS and falls in the low 40 FPS range. On average, the Xbox Series X version’s frame rate performance is 15 FPS higher on average compared to the PS5 and most clearly falls above all levels in the battle.

Note that this is a demo and represents work-in-progress. We’ll have to wait and see how the whole game goes in terms of performance on all levels. If you’re interested in the demo version, then the Xbox Series X version is clearly the winner.

Story of the Rise is out on September 10 for Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PS4, PC and PS5.
