Halo Infinite – 343 Industries is “100% Committed” to Holiday 2021 Launch, Release Date Announcement Coming “Very Soon”
Microsoft and 343 Industries at E3 in June announced that Infinite Halo launches this Holiday, and Xbox boss Phil Spencer said not long after that the shooter development team remained committed to that launch window. Well, we’re nearing the end of August now, and a release date has yet to be announced – so should fans worry? Well, probably not.
Speaking during the Infinite Halo development update for August, amid talk of a campaign co-op and Forge not in the game at launch, creative head Joseph Staten and community director Brian Jarrard took a moment to acknowledge that, although the exact launch date of the game hasn’t ‘so far confirmed, it is definitely still planned for Holiday 2021. 343 Industries and Microsoft are currently scrubbing some final details, it seems, and a release date, according to Staten and Jarrard, will be announced very soon.
“I want to acknowledge, it’s a little awkward we’re talking about things to launch, and in fact, we don’t have an official public launch date yet,” said Jarrard. “But I just wanted to reaffirm, and as we hear Phil Spencer, he recently referred – this game is definitely [coming this Holiday], we are committed to releasing this Holiday. And we’re pretty close, I guess – we’re working through some details right now on kind of what that real date is. “
Staten added: “That’s absolutely right. We are 100% committed to releasing this Holiday, the campaign and our first season of free-to-play multiplayer. We’ve got to work through a couple more details, and we’ll talk about our real release date very soon. “
How “very soon” will remain to be seen, though it’s worth noting that Xbox has a Gamescom show scheduled for August 24. There may be a release date for Infinite Halo it could be published then. Some rumors have suggested that the launch could come mid-November.
Either way, it seems Infinite Halo will definitely launch before this year is out (or almost definitely, if nothing else), so fans can rest easy.
