Vanillaware’s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim much loved, it was promoted not only to near-public praise from critics, but also from those who played it. In fact, as is common in the game with Vanillaware, its acceptance of action has not been reflected in global sales (thanks largely to the game’s natural gameplay, which is an unusual combination of genres) – although still does.

Atlus Publisher recently took to Twitter to announce that 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim has now sold more than 200,000 copies in Japan, where the game was launched in November 2019, about a year before it was launched worldwide. There’s no word on where the world championship stands right now, but back in March, that number stood at over 400,000 units. For a niche game that is only available on one platform, those are good sellers- though 13 Love One Another fans will tell you, there have to be better ways.
