Respawn Entertainment recently took to Twitter to reveal that it would remove “tap-strafing” Apex Legends in a future update. After much anger at the issue, John Larson, the studio’s associate live balance designer, also took over Twitlonger to give an explanation for all the suffering.
As mentioned in the original report, tap strapping exploits little or no playback tactics that, by extension, make it overpowering. Furthermore, performing this trick on a controller is nearly impossible – which unveils the playing field in cross-platform servers.
“A monkey would be a better MnK player than me, but I took some time to experiment with scroll-wheel strapping in particular. I felt the dopamine rush, I thought about the play-out opportunities, and I love tuning into streams to see flash plays. However, my designer brain started churning, and the more I saw, the more I felt this mechanic seemed like forbidden fruit, ”Larson wrote.
Apex Legends it may be old, but it has not lost much of its charm yet. The game received a new legend in the form of Seer, which has allowed for more stealth options for the game. On the other hand, Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2 and the original Titanfall have been continually embroiled in a host of debates about hackers within the game’s servers.
