Here are simple instructions with the help of which you can increase the FPS of games and enjoy PC games without lag:

1. Decrease screen resolution
2. Change the priority of the process to High
3. Increase virtual memory
4. Optimize internet data recovery

Decrease screen resolution

Low FPS issue is encountered due to higher screen resolution. Lower the screen resolution to resolve the issue to a certain extent.

For older versions of Windows:

1. Click the Start button, select Control Panel.
2. Click Appearance and Personalization | Adjust the screen resolution.
3. Use the drop-down list to select a lower resolution.
4. Click on Apply. Click the Keep button, in case you don’t have any display issues. If you are not comfortable with the new resolution, click the Revert button.

For Windows 8:

1. Press the Windows key.
2. Type “Adjust screen resolution” in the search box.
3. Click the Settings icon.
4. Open it from the search results.
5. Follow steps 3 to 4 in the paragraph above for earlier versions.

Change the priority of the process to High

Change the priority of the process to High. This will increase FPS.

For older versions of Windows:

1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
2. Click Task Manager.
3. Click on the Processes tab.
4. Right-click on the game. Select Set Priority | High.

For Windows 8:

1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del, click Task Manager in the new screen.
2. Click the Details tab.
3. Right-click on the affected process, select Set Priority | High.

Increase virtual memory

Virtual memory is the amount of hard drive used to process data when real RAM memory is insufficient. Increase virtual memory to correct if gaming FPS drops on your PC.

For Windows 8 and earlier:

1. Right-click on the My Computer desktop icon.
2. Select Properties.
3. Click the Advanced System Settings link, then click the Advanced tab.
4. Click Settings (under Performance), then click the Advanced tab again.
5. Click Edit (Virtual Memory).
6. Clear the “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives” check box.
7. Select the drive where your game is installed. For example: C: drive
8. Select the “Custom size” option. Enter an amount greater than the existing one. (The existing size is displayed in the “Currently allocated” label at the bottom.)
9. Click Set, then click OK three times.
10. A restart of the system is mandatory.

Optimize internet data recovery

Slow Internet data recovery causes this problem. The best way to overcome this is to optimize the Internet data recovery process.

1. Download an Internet Optimizer utility.
2. Install and run the program to optimize your Internet settings.
