In the recent Xbox TGS 2021 live stream, Tango Gameworks’ Shinji Mikami revealed to Xbox boss Phil Spencer that the studio has a new title under development (as reported by IGN). Although no further details were revealed, Mikami confirmed that John Johanas was working on the same.

Johanas was director of The Evil Within two DLC packages The Assignment a The Outcome. He would go on to direct The Evil Within 2 which was well praised by critics and players. His role on the new project is unknown but Mikami said he was “in the middle of working energetically on a new game.”

Tango Gameworks is currently working GhostWire: Tokyo which releases in early 2022 for PS5 and PC. Much like those of Bethesda Deathloop, it’s a uniquely timed year for Sony’s console. This new horror title, on the other hand, could be unique to Xbox platforms, much like Bethesda’s own Starfield. We’ll have to wait for more details in the coming months so stay tuned.
