Rumors of Metroid Chief remasters have been around for a few years at this point, but a recent report suggested something different, claiming that Nintendo and Retro Studios are currently working on a single remaster of the first Metroid Chief, rather than having the entire reconstructed trilogy packaged together, as suggested in innumerable rumors.

Speaking in a recent SpawnWave video, known scrum-half NateDrake commented on the subject and confirmed the leak. He claims that a Metroid Prime 1 remaster has been in the works since 2018 and is a “very ambitious project”, which means you should expect it to be more than simple progress. The interior suggests that, while content-wise, it will stick to the original, in terms of images, significant upgrades will be made.

Allegedly, the game is due to end sometime in 2022, with NateDrake suggesting it could be unveiled anywhere between The Game Awards in December and E3 next June, depending on when Nintendo plans to launch it release.
