Killing Intuition is one of several rare Rare franchises that have been on long hiatus for some time. The last game in the series for the Xbox One was launched in 2013, but they didn’t see exactly the level of success Microsoft would have hoped for, and since then, the series has faded into the background.
Could be coming back soon though. In a recent XboxEra Podcast episode, XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker recently said what he has heard from his sources Killing Intuition game “in active development.” Baker says he doesn’t know which studio is working on the game, but if it’s really in “active development”, that would mean Microsoft has found a studio to partner with on the project .
Iron Galaxy, the studio that handled the second and third seasons of the 2013 game, said earlier this year that it would consider coming back to the series, but for what it’s worth, Baker says, whatever the studio is n working on the next game, not Iron Galaxy (nor is it NetherRealm, in case you were wondering).
Interestingly, Xbox boss Phil Spencer suggested earlier this year that Microsoft had not done right Killer Instinct, so if this is the case, it would come as no surprise. Currently, this remains unconfirmed and unverified, so treat it that way.
