Square Enix and Eidos Montreal recently revealed the full system requirements for a PC version of Guardians of the Marvel Galaxy, and one detail of that that caught the eye of almost everyone was the storage requirements of the game, which was listed as 150 GB. That’s a big number, even by today’s standards. Thankfully, the actual file size of the game looks set to be significantly smaller.

Taking to Twitter, developer Eidos Montreal recently confirmed that it is “in the final stages of optimizing the final game”, and that the final file size of its PC version will be around 80 GB at launch, which is almost half that of which was mentioned in the PC requirements. 80 GB is still nothing to be afraid of, of course, but compared to what was mentioned before, it’s much easier to digest.

Guardians of the Marvel Galaxy out in a week, on October 26. It will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
