It won’t be long before Guardians of the Marvel Galaxy out and fans get their hands on Eidos Montreal’s version of the disgraced group. Meanwhile, GameSpot has the first 30 minutes of the title running on Xbox Series X. Running in 4K resolution, it provides a pretty good idea of what to expect from the overall package. Spoilers follow of course, so be warned.

Starting with a young Peter Quill before transitioning back to the present, the opening sees the Guardians wander into the Quarantine Zone, sliding past the Nova Corps force field. Along with exploration and dialogue options, we also get an early insight into combat. Overall, it looks fairly solid even if there is much more to be seen in terms of combat tactics and story.

Guardians of the Marvel Galaxy out on October 26th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Eidos Montreal recently detailed various in-game locations, difficulty options and accessibility features. Read more about that here.
