Whether or not Software id has plans for the future DOOM Eternal there’s still content to see, but there’s no shortage of people out there who are more than a little curious to find out what the developer is working on as his next project. Interestingly enough, new job listings recently went up for a bunch of open jobs in the studio on the Zenimax website, and they give us interesting clues about what id is working on.
According to the job listings, Software’s next project id is a new entry in a “long-standing iconic operating FPS”. That could mean, of course DOOM, but other interesting details in the lists point to something else. Initially, the game appears to have “fantasy and sci-fi art styles” and will include “AAA quality sci-fi and environmental fantasy scenes and air boxes.”
That brief description sounds much more similar Quaker than he likes DOOM. Earlier this year, to celebrate Quake’s 2nd anniversary, id Software and Bethesda released a redesigned and expanded version of the original game, which also included new expansions developed by Wolfenstein the MachineGames studio.
Of course, it is clear that whatever a new project is for Software, it is likely to be developed early, which means we won’t know what it is for a while yet. A. Quaker game is something many will love, especially considered co-shooting classics Wolfenstein a DOOM both have enjoyed successful revivals in recent years.
