Riot Games has recently revealed that it has reached a total of 180 million active players across all games installed in the Legends League universe. The company announced this via a Twitter post, which you can check out below. For context, Steam has a monthly active user base of 120 million.
Riot Games has confirmed in a statement i PC Gamer that these figures are the total monthly active players League of legends, League of Legends: Wild Throat, The Legends of Runeterra, Team Fighting Tactics, a Fight for the Golden Spatula. The terminology implies active monthly users who have played at least one of the above games in the October calendar. If one user plays two games, he will be counted as two users.
Riot explains: “Monthly active users (‘MAUs’) are defined as the number of players who reached a game, and in this case, the October calendar month. A player accessing two of our games would be counted as two users. “
While a Riot League of Legends games has been a huge success for many years, the total amount of user bass is remarkably large for just a handful of games. With Terror continuing to update its games in a timely manner, it seems the publisher will keep its momentum going forward.
