The original developers of the SteamWorld series in Games and Form Games (now merged with Thunderful Games) is working on The Gync which is launching in just over a month, but SteamWorld, as you may have guessed, there is still life left in it.
Thunderful has announced a new game in the series, which is being developed by itself, called SteamWorld Headhunter. This one is shaping up to be quite a different experience to its predecessors. For starters, it’s completely 3D, a first for the series. In the meantime, it is also a co-op. His short pursuit trailer shows two robots involved in a Wild West-style standoff, but in the end, a spider-like robot emerges to ruin the party. It doesn’t tell us much about the game, but it does give us a good insight into what it will look like, visually.
SteamWorld since series has never been afraid to experiment. Although the main railway You games, of course, are Metroidvanias 2D, others have deviated in different directions, from the deck-building RPG gameplay of SteamWorld Quam to the XCOM-develop a turnaround strategy of SteamWorld Heist i, of course, the one who started the whole- tower defense strategy gameplay of SteamWorld Tower Defense for the Nintendo DS. It should be interesting to see how this next jump travels.
Not announced for release window or target platforms SteamWorld Headhunter again. Stay tuned for more updates.
