Infinite’s Halo beta multiplayer has been received well enough for its gameplay but some lost features, along with the monetization and customization, have been harshly criticized. A slow rate of progression, coupled with a lack of unlockable make-up outside the Garden Pass and store, is to blame. Nor did it help when a datamin leak indicated that players would not win unlock armor for multiplayer from the campaign.

However, this does not appear to be the case. The Washington Post’s Gene Park noted on Twitter that the leak, as it’s called, was “wrong.” Forbes senior contributor Paul Tassi added, “I feel we can undo this even with the preview embargo?” While 343 Industries has not officially confirmed if the leak is incorrect, it seems that some fans may have jumped the gun a little too soon.

Infinite’s Halo campaign launches on December 8th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC so it won’t be long before we find out for ourselves. The developer has taken steps to ease post-game XP deficiency with a constantly refreshing Daily Challenge for completing one game. He noted that this was the first step so those looking for a longer term solution will need to wait. Meanwhile, the “Tenrai” first Break event goes live tomorrow and offers players a free 30 tier event ticket to complete.
