EXOR Studios’ The Riftbreaker has been out since October and has been well received by critics and players. Of course, there is even more to come and the developer has outlined his plans in a new road map after launch. Its first big update is to provide fans with game editing tools (the same one used to create all the base game content) for modding.
This will allow for the creation of new maps and missions. There will also be bug fixes, quality of life changes and further balancing of the difficulty of the Campaign. A new biome will release in the first half of 2022, providing an entirely new area to explore with “unique wildlife, special weather events, more types of collectibles, weapons, skills and upgrades” as well as new secrets. This will be available for free but a paid extension to the Campaign is planned for release by March / April 2022.
An online multiplayer is also in the works and is planned for launch by the end of 2022. The plan is to operate at least an online co-op, though the developer states, “If things go well and that if we have enough time it is not out of the question whether we want to include some other game modes as well. ” It will also be a free update for all base game owners, though extensive testing will also be required.
