Four More Yakuza Titles :

Just days after celebrating the series 15th anniversary, news has arrived that many non-PlayStation fans were hoping for: Announced during The Game Awards, The Yakuza Remastered Collection and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life are heading to Xbox Game Pass for consoles and PC. After successful ports of Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 in 2020, four more Yakuza titles are heading to Xbox and Steam in 2021.

Firstly, on the 28th January 2021 is The Yakuza Remastered Collection. This brings together remastered versions of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 in one package. Then, on 25th March, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life also arrives, giving Xbox players the chance to play through Kazuma Kiryu’s entire saga from start to finish for the first time.

As part of The Yakuza Remastered Collection, each of the three titles will have additional content added back in after it was removed when originally released. There will also be updated localisation to bring it in line with other Yakuza titles, plus the addition of 1080p and full 60fps. These games in the collection will also be available to purchase separately if not an Xbox Game Pass subscriber.

Yakuza 3 follows on from the events of Yakuza Kiwami 2, featuring Kiryu and Haruka opening an orphanage in Okinawa; a massive change of pace from previous games. It isn’t long however, until Kiryu finds himself once again sucked into the criminal underworld.

Yakuza 4 introduces several new protagonists: Shun Akiyama, Taiga Saejima and Masayoshi Tanimura alongside all your other favourite characters. Despite new playable characters appearing, Yakuza 4 fill in a lot of the main casts back story pre-Yakuza 0.

Finally, Yakuza 5 is regarded as the biggest Yakuza game of the lot. Five main areas to explore alongside five playable characters, including Haruka for the first time.

You only have two months to play all these are following shortly after on 25th March is Yakuza 6. This is the last mainline entry to feature Kiryu as a playable character and marks a final chapter in his journey. Fans looking to complete his story finally get the chance to through Xbox Game Pass.

So that’s 28th January 2021 for Yakuza 3, 4 and 5, and 25th March for Yakuza 6. If you are still playing through Yakuza: Like a Dragon, that doesn’t give you much time to finish the first chapter of Ichiban’s story. Probably best to not bother playing any other games either in 2021 as that is a lot of Yakuza to be going at.
