As developers of the future Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake, Aspyr Media has huge responsibilities on its shoulders. Remaking beloved games always has to strike the right balance between staying true to the originals and trying new things for a modern audience, but where dirty concerned, how exactly is he going to do that? Well, it looks like where the fighting is concerned, it will do more of the latter.
In a recently uploaded video. YouTuber MrMattyPlays claimed that according to an anonymous source who allegedly leaked accurate information about the remake in a past development, the new release of dirty is going to drop the turn based combat system from the original BioWare and instead adopt a full action combat system.
Apparently, this will take inspiration from games like God of war a Nioh, which should give you an idea of which direction it will go in. MrMattyPlays also claimed that the game would have different modes, and speculated that these might be similar to the combat modes of Final Fantasy 7 Remake (which also offered Classical mode to simulate combat based on the original game order).
Of course, this is an unconfirmed and unverified leak, so for the time being, you should take this with a grain of salt – though, admittedly, it seems very likely that this is indeed the direction the remake takes it.
Either way, with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake still far from launch, it will probably be some time before we have any definitive details on it. Whenever the game launches, it will only be available for PS5 and PC.
