The original street fighter released for arcades back in 1987, which means 2022 is the year that Capcom’s beloved fight series will celebrate its 35th anniversary. Appropriate celebrations for the occasion have not yet fully begun, but Capcom has begun preparations – the official logo for the 35th anniversary of the series has been shared on Twitter. A great deal has passed since the launch of the last mainline game in the series, but that may be changing soon. Capcom said in November 2021 that it would share more details about the future of the series in 2022, and with whom street fighter celebrating a milestone birthday, now seems like a great time to announce the next game of the series.
Rumors have indicated that Street Fighter 6 is being developed for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox as a cross-gen game. It was allegedly released in 2021, but was delayed due to development difficulties. Yoshinori Ono, executive producer of the street fighter series, his departure from Capcom midway through 2020, before being appointed president and COO of Delightworks in April last year.
