Ubisoft announced a sequel to 2017 Battle of the Kingdom of Mario + Rabbids at E3 2021, and at the time, they said the title of tactics was turn-based, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, launching sometime in 2022. However, the game may not be able to reach that target launch window.
In a recently uploaded video, the known Nintendo leaker NateTheHate claimed, based on what it has heard, that developer Ubisoft Milan needs more time to refresh the game and make it “the best” it can be “, and therefore, it is not going to be launched in 2022, and will instead release at some point during the first half of 2023.
2022 looks like a packed year for the Switch, with several major exclusive programs already confirmed for the system for the year, including programs like Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3, Triangle Strategy, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and many others, so it would come as no surprise to see some games slip into next year, especially with COVID presenting development problems for just about every game in the works currently available.
This, of course, is currently unconfirmed, so take it with a pinch of salt until we’ve received official word from Ubisoft or Nintendo. However, we will be keeping an eye out for more details, so keep an eye out for that.
