Ken Levine, best known for his work on Thief: The Dead Shadows, Shock System 2, and the BioShock he currently serves as president and creative director of Ghost Story Games. Levine, however, has been the subject of recent discussions about the unannounced game he and his team are making.
Well, we seem to have more news about that unannounced game again, this time from Ken Levine himself. When talking to the Arcade Attack in an interview (through WCCFTech), Levine talks about various topics, mainly regarding his career and previous games. One thing he confirmed is that the game he is currently working on will only be revealed when it is nearing completion and closer to launch, as he did not want to show it too early.
Levine says: “We didn’t want to go down the path of showing [the game] too early, because we thought it was going to be out sooner, and I don’t want a long period of accumulation, interest, and hype because it doesn’t, it would feel fairly inauthentic in the eventually. and I think players want to be … they want to know what they’re getting, and the only way to really do that is to announce closer to the launch. ”
Levine also says that the game’s announcement will make people “surprised but not surprised by what they see”, and is not taking part in the next BioShock game, wishing well to developers of that title.
This comes days after a report published by Bloomberg, in which several current and former Ghost Story Games employees – anonymously – talked about how the studio’s first game is going through developmental troubles because of Levine’s management and auteurism. For now, it seems we have to wait quite a while to get any kind of information into the upcoming Ghost Story Games title.
