After weeks of trying to solve problems with Big Team Battle in Infinite Halo, 343 Industries’ latest hotfix seems to have done the trick. At 1.1 GB, the update recently went live for consoles and PC, and allows players to find full games faster and consistently.

The update also sees Scorpion Tanks and Wraiths spawning more often on BTB maps, adding to the real feeling of absolute war. Players in Fireteams may still get started in different areas when BTB games start up but will now have the Fireteam Marker color selected, making them easier to identify. For those who want to play around with the Halo Champions Series version of Free-For-All Slayer, it is now available in the Custom Game modes list.

Check out the full hotfix notes below for more details. In terms of future updates, Infinite Halo will later receive a campaign co-op and Forge. 343 industries originally planned to discuss the same in January but have since postponed further details. Keep an eye out in the coming days for more information.

  • Matching service enhancements for Big Team Battle (BTB). Players should find full games faster and more consistently.
  • Scorpion Tanks and Wraiths will feature more frequently on BTB maps.
  • Fireteam members in BTB games will have the Fireteam Marker color selected, but may still start the game in different parts of the map.
  • Update progress join rules to avoid matching with near-completion games.
  • Changes to Oddball in both Site and Arena Multiplayer playlists:
    – If the score is equal when a round timer ends, one minute is added back to the timer. If the score is equal at the end of the extra minute, then the round will be declared equal.
    – The match ends if two separate rounds end in a draw and the win goes to the team with more rounds won.
  • The Halo Championship Series (HCS) variant of Free-For-All Slayer was added to the Custom Game modes list.
  • At Custom Games, changes to the Free-For-All Slayer, FFA Oddball, Neutral Flag and Tactic Slayer game options are updating correctly.
