New players will no longer be able to get the game via Steam, though existing players can continue to use the platform.
We’ve been waiting for Fall Guys to launch for Xbox and Switch for quite some time now. Originally announced for the platformers over a year ago, developer Mediatonic said earlier this year that the new versions were close to being finalized. Now, as promised, Mediatonic has made some big new announcements related to the game.
From the top of confirming that Fall Guys will be going free-to-play on June 21, Mediatonic has also announced that on the same day, the game will finally launch for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X / S, and Xbox One. At the same time, it will also be releasing for Epic Games Store on PC, and it will get native launch for the PS5. On the latter, the game will boast “faster loading times and other performance upgrades” – presumably the same as the Xbox Series X / S version, though specific details have yet to be shared.
Of course, Fall Guys will also support cross-platform multiplayer and cross-progression across all versions. That said, the game will not be available via Steam for new players starting June 21, even though existing players on the platform will still be able to access it and continue receiving updates. Read more on that through here.
