English actor Christopher Judge and various international actors talk about portraying Kratos in Santa Monica Studio’s sequel.
Santa Monica Studio has released the fifth installment of its behind-the-scenes series for God of War Ragnarok. It explains everything about the creation of Kratos, from his voice to animations and models. There are some spoilers for the story, so be warned. Check it out below.
Along with Christopher Judge, who works as the English voice for Kratos, giving insight to Ricardo Juarez (Brazilian Portuguese voice), Hesham El Shazly (Arabic voice) and Kenta Miyake (Japanese voice). They all talk about the process of being a father and how Kratos takes care of Atreus, even if he can’t express it in words.
Judge said about standing firm when mo-capping Kratos since everything the man does has a “definite purpose” in mind. Eric Jacobus also discusses stuntman and Kratos stuntman the “freak” in human action. “There is a time, and I always hit, from 90 degrees this way to 90 degrees that way. When I do that attack, like, I throw my whole body in. And there’s a little tension, and I find myself at the end.”
In the end, the Judge is happy for the players to know the game. “My youngest son, one of my harshest critics, said, ‘Dad, I didn’t want it to end.’ Well, I didn’t either.” He admitted to missing “every day that I wasn’t with this collaboration of people.”
