Only PS4 and PC players can access the VR content using head-mounted displays, though they can be played without VR enabled.
NIS America recently confirmed that Legend of Heroes: Paths into Reveriethe sequence to Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4, coming to the West in Summer 2023. It will be available for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Will there be a PS4 to PS5 upgrade for customers? The answer is yes, but with a possible caveat.
In new blog post, the publisher confirmed that there would be an upgrade path from PS4 to PS5 but did not specify whether it was paid or free. Also, while there are bonuses for carrying over one’s save data, PS4 saves will not be compatible with the PS5 version. This means that all carryover bonuses will be free for PS5 owners.
However, if you start playing the game on PS4 and want to continue on PS5, you’ll have to start from the beginning. As for VR support (which is limited to certain sections in side content), it will only be available for PS4 and PC. “Logistical difficulties” prevent the PS5 version from supporting the VR experience. More details about the VR mode for PC will be revealed in the future.
The good news is that those without a VR headset can still experience the sections in a non-VR mode. Stay tuned for more details on the title’s release date in the coming months.
