Kojima Productions and Sony recently announced that Die Dead 2 is in development for PS5, but this is not the only thing that fans of the IP should look forward to. An open-world movie adaptation is also underway, officially confirmed (via Deadline).

Development is underway on the film, and the project is said to be “on the fast track”. It is produced by Hideo Kojima through the Kojima Productions banner and Alex Lebovici (edited above Naturally) through the Hammerstone Studios banner. Kojima Productions US and Allan Ungar will serve as executive producers, and the film is fully financed by Hammerstone.

It has been confirmed that the film will feature new characters and elements not yet in the game, although there is no official word on who they will be. will be written or directed.

Whether anyone will reprise their roles in the movie remains to be seen.
