With The prophesying out (and receiving mixed reviews), the next magic-focused RPG is The legacy of Hogwarts, releasing next month. Based on JK Rowling Harry Potter series, it is set 100 years before the first book, as a fifth year student with strange powers enrolls at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Based on leaks from the game’s official art book, the main story will take around 35 hours to complete. However, there are plenty of side quests to investigate. Radar Games spoke with narrative director and senior game writer Moira Squier, who confirmed over 100 side quests.

“The main storyline is complex and engaging, and features a variety of different characters and perspectives, but by giving the player moments of choice throughout the game, we allow them to tell their version of that epic story. Even the side quests, of which there are over 100, allow the player to handle the main campaign by virtue of the experiences they have had.

“Interacting with someone in a side quest will affect how you interact with them in the main story – and vice versa. The order in which the player chooses to complete these quests will affect their story and gameplay. Everything is interconnected.” There is probably an ideal path for the side quests to have certain results, but we will have to play for ourselves and see.

The legacy of Hogwarts launches on February 10th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It’s out on April 4th for PS4 and Xbox One, while the Nintendo Switch version launches on July 25th. For more details, check out our feature here.
