Antarctic Peninsula is the first new Control map since Busan was released in 2018. It has frozen caverns, penguins, and more.
Blizzard Entertainment recently announced that Overwatch 2 Season 3 starts on February 7th. A new Battle Pass is on the way with a new Mythic skin, Amaterasu Kiriko. But that’s not all, as a new Control map will also make its debut.
The Antarctic Peninsula, as the name suggests, is located in Antarctica and appears to be the same base where Mei lived. A short new clip on Twitter shows frozen caverns with penguins, various interiors and exteriors overlooking the water. Interestingly, this will be the first new Control map added to the game since Busan in 2018.
The developer also announced that the Season 3 trailer will debut on February 6. Along with a better look at combat on the Antarctic Peninsula, it should showcase the new skins and Battle Pass cosmetics players can expect. As for other changes, Blizzard confirmed that its game maker is being overhauled and that players can win for free Overwatch Credits to purchase Epic and Legendary skins. Stay tuned for more details ahead of the season launch.
