If not a remastered collection, a remaster of the original Soulcalibur is certainly in the works, known insider says.
It’s almost five years since we had a major new release in the Soulcalibur franchise with Soulcalibur 6and while it remains to be seen how long it will be before we get the next mainline installment in the franchise (especially with fighting games as big as they are right now), it seems like that Bandai Namco has some plans related to the series are in the works though.
That’s according to XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker, who recently said on an XboxEra podcast that a remaster of Soulcalibur is at work at Bandai Namco. The full extent of this release remains to be seen – Baker suggests it may be a remastered collection of multiple Soulcalibur titles, but if not, it says that a remaster of the original game is definitely in development. Baker also hints that the release will be available through Game Pass as well.
Needless to say, given the massive critical success that earlier games in the series in particular continue to enjoy to this day, a remaster of any kind would be met with its fair share of excitement – although as is true always with unchecked leaks. of this nature, it is best to take this with a grain of salt for now.
