Bloober Team and Anshar Studios have released an extensive gameplay walkthrough for Layers of Fear, the latest entry in the series. It introduces the Author, a new playable character, as she enters the Lighthouse and explores the story linking all the events of the previous games. Check it out below, but remember that the footage isn’t final.
Players will return to the House of the first game and use the new Lantern, which seems to burn some dark phenomena. Many of the scenes will be familiar, taken from the Painter’s point of view, but the Actor’s journey in Layers of Fear 2 also present.
Layers of Fear includes both games and their DLC with a new chapter, “The Final Note”, providing another perspective to the first game. It uses Unreal Engine 5 with Lumen, ray tracing, volumetric lighting, HDR and Niagara support.
Layers of Fear releases in June 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months, and check out the latest screenshots below.
