The open world action-adventure game has held on to the top spot in the charts, and has become the sixth best-selling Zelda game in UK history.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Realm has topped the UK weekly retail charts for a second consecutive week, according to data released by the Gfk (via Games industry). The open world megaton debuted at the top of the charts last week and enjoyed the UK’s biggest physical release of the year, and has continued to sell well.
In fact, it is the sixth best seller Zelda game in UK history with just two weeks on the market, jumping into a 2019 remake Link wakes up and the 3DS remaster of Ocarina of Time. Last week, Nintendo announced that Tears of the Kingdom sold over 10 million units worldwide in its first three days.
A rising tide lifts all boats, and others Zelda games have also seen an increase in sales in the UK. Breath of the Wild re-entered the top 10 at Number 8 with a 21% week on week increase in sales. Even though Skyward Sword HD for the Switch has seen an increase of 342%, and is currently in fourteenth place.
Meanwhile, 2K LEGO drive, the notable new release for the past week, debuted in seventh place. Its sale, by LEGO standards, especially huge, probably thanks to being in the shade Zeldabut as GamesIndustry points out, LEGO titles tend to have longer sales tails. The open world racer saw 37% of its UK physical launch sales on PS5, 31% on Switch, 18% on Xbox, and 14% on PS4.
