Meet protagonist Jot, his childhood friend Violet, easygoing mountain troll Thrash, bad-tempered sorcerer Humgrump, and others.
The Plucky Squire made quite a splash with its announcement last year, and while details on the charming action-adventure title have been scarce since then, developer All Possible Futures and publisher Devolver Digital recently released a new gameplay trailer for the title in Sony’s PlayStation Showcase, along with by an article published on the The PlayStation Blog which reveals new details about the game’s cast of characters.
Starring as a main character The Plucky Squire will be Jot, the titular squire himself, who is described as “a brave adventurer and champion of the land” who also “details his adventures in a series of best-selling novels among the people of Mojo.”
He is joined by his childhood friend Violet, an artist with no shortage of creativity; Thrash, described as “A friendly mountain troll and a wicked metal drummer”; Moonbeard, who is “a wise wizard who also likes to DJ in his spare time”; Pip, a little mouse and Moonbeard’s “buddy and helper”; and Humgrump, a bad-tempered wizard who will serve as the main antagonist.

The Plucky Squire which is due out sometime this year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. A Devolver Direct event is scheduled for next month, so we’re likely to see more of the game in the near future.
