Out this Autumn, the collection includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
It’s a good week for me Metal Gear Solid fans, with Konami finally revealing the big rumours Metal Gear Solid 3 remakewas called Metal Gear Solid Delta: Eat Snake, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Co-developed by Konami and Virtuos, it brings back the original voice cast and will be a “faithful recreation” with “evolving” gameplay.
Although a release date has not been confirmed, the publisher also revealed Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, releasing this October. It contains the original Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in one collection.
In case there were concerns about it being available digitally only (like Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2), Konami UK confirmed on Twitter, “Physical and DL versions of the collection will be available.” Of course, it remains to be seen how much the collection will cost and which of the “latest platforms” it will launch on.
Still, it’s good news for those who want to own physical versions of the classics without possibly dropping a bomb on the original PS One/PS2 era discs. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
Both physical and DL versions of the collection will be available. 🙂
