The website for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection lists Vol. 1’s three games and a “?” followed by “Stay tuned for more information.”
Following many rumors, Konami unveiled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Eat Snake at the PlayStation Showcase. Developed with Virtuos, it is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, but no release window was announced. In the meantime, fans can look forward to Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1which is out in fall 2023 for the “latest platforms.”
It includes Metal Gear Solid with the VR Mission/Special Mission, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The last two of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection in 2011, so fans can expect additional content and quality of life features, not to mention Metal Gear 1 a 2.
While the “Vol. 1” tag would make you think that other re-releases of classic titles are on the table, apparently Konami is hinting at the same thing on its official website. Under “List of Games,” it shows all three games in Ref. 1, followed by “?” and “Stay tuned for more information.” The fact that the List of Games section is separate from Ref. 1’s titles are also worth noting.
Time will tell, so keep an eye out for any possible announcements in the coming months.
