2020 was a crazy year for a great deal of reasons, but as much of a terrible time it was in several places, it excelled in others. As we know, the Switch was probably the highest selling system in 2020 by a wide margin, but the PS5 came in second in the region despite launching in November, even managing to outsell the PS4 “narrowly.” Almost forty three pieces of video game program were sold in the region with FIFA twenty one topping the digital and physical charts followed by titles as Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and, yes, Grand Theft Auto five. The increase of digital sales also continued in the region, as it is reported that sixty seven % of games which were sold were digital copies. Despite the Switch selling more consoles by a wide margin, the PS4 really had probably the highest retail market share with 37.4 % vs the Switch’s 35.1 %.
