Chart compiled using gameplay data from over 2.5 million active Xbox accounts.
A little lower down the chart, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has hopped up one space to 13th. The game not too long ago had a major update which brought a number of fixes to quests, activities, and much more, so presumably some players hopped back into the game to try it out once more and find out if their issues were fixed. If not, Ubisoft has also updated the list of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla known issues and outlined which are actually likely to be fixed in a future patch, so more players may be heading back to Valhalla once those’re fixed. Cyberpunk 2077, meanwhile, has dropped 2 places to 14th. Recently, Marcin Iwinski, co founder of CD Projekt Red, issued an apology for the console launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and outlined the team’s plans to make it better. As outlined by this timeline, the game’s Xbox Series X|S update should be arriving in the second half of this year, and perhaps we will see Cyberpunk 2077 move back up the charts then.
Sea of Thieves has jumped up to 18th after its Gold & Glory weekend offered players double reputation and gold, while Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has hopped up five places to 26th after its Xbox Series X|S optimisation update. Just below, Star Wars: Squadrons pops up at 28th, presumably having been boosted by being one of last weekend’s free-to-play Xbox games. Below Squadrons, there’s a spate of games falling down the chart, with Injustice 2, Smite, Battlefield V, Fifa 20, Minecraft (Win 10) and For Honor all dropping to 29th, 30th, 31st, 32nd, 33rd, and 34th respectively, while free Xbox game Rec Room — which offers an easy 700 Gamerscore — makes its first appearance at 37th.

No Man’s Sky and Little Nightmares are this week’s two disappearances. Looking ahead, meanwhile, we have Hitman 3 out in just a few days on January 20th, with The Medium out and joining Xbox Game Pass on January 28th, and Control’s Ultimate Edition coming to Xbox Series X|S in February, not to mention the rest of January’s Xbox Game Pass additions. Which do you think will make it to the top ten next? Let us know in the comments!
