Black Friday deals resulted in a dominant sales performance for the Nintendo Switch, with the Xbox Series S following in “a very distant second place.”

Black Friday deals saw Mario Kart 8 Deluxe enjoying a whopping 567% boost in sales over last week, jumping up from No. 7 to the very top.

The remakes have collectively become the second-biggest launch for a Switch title to date, surpassing Pokemon Sword and Shield’s launch sales.

In total, the Switch sold 711,000 units in the US throughout the month, with its total sales only being 3% down from what it managed in October 2020.

Meanwhile, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales saw increased sales thanks to strong Nintendo Switch and PS5 sales.

Sales for the Switch are down year-over-year from the previous fiscal period though, and Nintendo has lowered its projections for the coming months slightly.

Nintendo has also provided updated sales figures for Mario Golf: Super Rush and New Pokemon Snap.

Updated sales figures for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and various other first party Switch titles have also been revealed.

Mario Party Superstars debuted in third place with six percent lower sales than Super Mario Party. Ubisoft’s Riders Republic debuted in eighth.
